Privacy policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026
Chow Down Meow! ("the game") is made by Ricky Bird, an independent developer in the United Kingdom. This policy explains what information is used when you play, and why. If you have any questions, email birdcagegames@gmail.com.
The short version
- I don't ask for your name, email or any account, and I don't collect or sell your personal information.
- Your scores, settings and cat outfits are saved only on your phone.
- Adverts in the free game are provided by Google AdMob, which may use information about your device to show and measure ads. You can choose how in the game.
- Leaderboards use Apple's Game Center, and purchases are handled by Apple.
Information stored on your device
The game saves your best scores, settings (such as sound and music), outfits and your chosen scoreboard name on your phone so they are there next time you play. This stays on your device and is not sent to me. Deleting the game deletes it.
Game Center (Apple)
If you are signed in to Game Center, your scores and your Game Center nickname are sent to Apple so they can appear on the leaderboards, including your friends' boards if you allow it. This is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. You can turn Game Center off in your iPhone's Settings.
Purchases and tips (Apple)
Remove Ads and tips are bought through the App Store. Apple processes the payment and I never see your payment details. I only learn whether Remove Ads has been bought on your Apple account, so the game can switch ads off.
Adverts (Google AdMob)
The free game shows a full-screen advert after some games, provided by Google AdMob. To show, measure and limit ads, and to prevent fraud, Google may collect information such as:
- your device's advertising identifier, only if you allow tracking when the game asks;
- your IP address, and general information about your device and the game;
- how you interact with ads.
In the UK and EU, the game asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time with Privacy choices on the game's main menu, and change tracking in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. Buying Remove Ads stops adverts completely. Learn more in how Google uses information from apps that use its services and Google's privacy policy.
Crash reports
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may send me anonymous crash reports that help me fix bugs. They don't identify you.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone. If you are a parent or guardian and have a question, please get in touch.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask about, correct or delete personal information held about you. I don't hold personal information about players myself; for data held by Google or Apple, use their privacy tools linked above. You can also contact the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
